Walkers

Walkers are welcome to enter the 26km / 10km and will be issued a specific walkers race bib.
The walking category is for participants who intend to walk the entire course and compete against other ‘walkers’. If you intend to run even one step on the course please register as a ‘runner’. Please ensure walkers start at the back behind the runners and keep to the left at all times.

Ready for the ultimate off-road challenge? This triathlon is designed to test your endurance, skill, and grit across three exciting disciplines. Start with a fast-paced 1.6k swim down the stunning Waikato River, then conquer a 32k bike course full of climbs, descents, and some singletracks. Finish strong with a 10k trail run through the spectacular Huka Falls/Rotary Trail loop, capped off with a stairway to the finish. If you’re looking for a triathlon that pushes your limits, this is the race for you!

Recce Training weekend

18th-19th October 2025

Join us for the TryOffRoad Recce Trail Running Weekend in stunning Taupō — Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th October 2025! This FREE training weekend is open to all athletes entered in the TryOffRoad Triathlon or 10km, 26km, and 50km trail events.

Preview the epic trails you’ll race on, guided by Aimee from Elliott Coaching and Will from IPPNZ, our official sponsor. We’ll meet both mornings at the IPPNZ showroom (2/258 Spa Road) before heading out on two exciting runs

Approx. 3–4 hours Saturday and 2 hours Sunday (subject to confirmation based on numbers). Spots are limited, so register your interest now and lock in your chance to train on the TryOffRoad course!
